Our Mission

The members of the Columbia Lakes Volunteer Fire Department strive to make a difference in the community and ranks of the volunteer firefighting industry.  We want to be leaders, servants, and an avenue to bring our surrounding fire departments closer together to make the "WEST OF THE BRAZOS" Firefighters' Association one of the best in the Great State of Texas along with transitioning into a seamless unity with all of our brothers in the Brazoria County Firefighter's Association.

Our personal mission.  Columbia Lakes VFD has undergone significant changes over the past two years.   Dedication, perseverance and determination has driven each member to deliver the best community protection possible.  Our goal and mission is to expose the myth that there is a difference between paid and volunteer firefighters.  Without regret, the only difference between paid firefighters and our volunteer firefighters is that the ranks of our volunteer firefighters do not receive any pay, but willingly give up their time from family and friends to serve the community when called upon.  Thousands of dollars, hours, and miles have been sacrificed by members to be the best we can be for our community.  We are proud of who we are and through our actions we want you, our community and surrounding departments and fellow firefighters, to be proud to have such dedicated members there to serve when called upon.
